What is CU?

Funded by companies, the corporate universities are designed for the trainees consisting of middle-& high-level managers, key employees and business partners from the downstream supply chains. In order to facilitate the further growth and competitiveness, corporate universities are founded by taping into training potentials and other training resource. Meanwhile, relevant programs are developed and improved over the training. The CU system is now playing an important role in vocational education.

Under the Knowledge-based economy background, how to build a learning organization and, manage knowledge-based employees has brought a real challenge to businesses. Currently, the leading companies, both domestic and global ones, are sparing no efforts in building up their corporate universities. GE Croton College, Motorola University, Siemens University and HP Business School are such examples. Chinese companies, such as Lenovo, Haier, Chunlan, CONKA and ZTE have founded their universities in China successively.

The reason lies in two aspects: first, more and more Chinese companies go to global market and try to find a niche in the competition. They feel unprecedented pressure from their large transnational competitors in many aspects, especially the lack of talents. To improve the competitiveness, it is high on the schedule to found their own universities to generate high quality talents; second, with the expansion of companies, the corporate universities are endowed with more strategic meaning……
